Dear Pashtun P:
There are many other forums which will better suit your purpose.
As clearly spelled out in the "Aims" and "Long Terms Vision" of this forum - the Pashtun Foundation is a peaceful forum, one that is devoted to ideas rather than guns.
You could debate that you are proposing an idea about guns, and I understand that, I understand that today it seems that only those with firepower have real power, but the power of ideas is far greater.
You may see the immediacy of the results of a gun firing but the results of education which allowed you to write such a compelling case are far more long lasting.
I hope you will choose to continue to speak out for freedom of our people in peaceful terms, because believe me, they already know the other route.
And where has it got them?
A common definition of lunacy is to continue to do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome.
We need to do something different. We need to build schools and educate 100% of our population because all over the world we see that this is the way people get ahead.
This may not be an overnight solution, but it is the right one.
A short cut way to learn building better weapons is futile, because with education others can always build better one's than you. And where will an arms race end?
As Gandhi-ji said, "an eye for an eye will result in a world full of one-eyed people". That is not so funny. we have seen our brothers across the border, they had formed what was called "the government with the most number of disabled people" - but did not know how to run the country.
We are better than that. How is it that our future should be worse that out past?
We must never accept that.
Badal will tug at your heart but they say: "revenge is a dish that is best served cold."
I would urge that we aim to survive first. We aim for our language to survive. Our culture to survive. Our children to survive.
This fight like other fights is about survival.
Some of our foolishness brought this on us. Had we been smart, had we been sophisticated, then others, outsiders, could not have manipulated us for their own nefarious purposes.
Let's keep Pashto alive, learn it, speak it, read and write it, so that we can pass it on as our legacy to our children.
Without our language what are we? Just another group of people.
